Multiplayer Dungeon Crawler, Barony, Finally Launches

Die in realtime with your friends in this dungeon-crawling roguelike.

Man, it's been a year and a half since I first started watching this game on TIGSource but it's finally here. Turning Wheel's online multiplayer dungeon-crawling roguelike is finally here. Now, I can fail at a roguelike online while others are watching. Yay!

More seriously, this game has been on my watch list for a while. Citing inspirations such as Ultima Underworld and System Shock, the first-person action in Barony has had me intrigued for a while. Not only that but it has a level editor! And secret areas, just like the good old days! I mean, the main quest involves entering the Devil's Bastion and defeating Baron Herx, the lich, and that's nice and all, but what we really want is to cause our friends to suffer repeated virtual deaths in a deathtrap of our own creation, right?

You can grab the game from the official website for $6.99 now. Also get your friends to grab it because it's made for online co-op. That and you might need them to solve the game's "cryptic messages."

  • This game looks awesome. Too bad it's not on steam yet.
